Product Warranty and Returns

If you believe that your Dynon Avionics product is not working properly, please do not return it without first receiving authorization. We can often help solve problems over email at support@dynonavionics.com or on the phone at 425-402-0433. Ask for technical support.

Should we be unable to solve your problem, a Dynon Avionics representative will set up a Return Materials Authorization (RMA) so that you can return your product for repair. You are responsible for shipping your product to Dynon Avionics. After repair, Dynon Avionics will return ship using UPS Ground Service. Other services available at an additional charge.

If you receive warranty authorization to return any products to Dynon Avionics, please remove any fittings, brackets, or other accessories from the product.

Warranty Information

Warranty Periods
Dynon Avionics EFIS products are covered by a three-year limited warranty. Accessories, including temperature probes, pressure sensors, and flow sensors are covered by a one-year limited warranty. The D1, D2, and D3 Pocket Panel Portable EFIS systems are covered by a one-year factory limited warranty

Warranty coverage begins:
  • The day the product is shipped to the end customer if purchased directly from Dynon Avionics.
  • The date of retail sale if purchased through an authorized Dynon Avionics dealer.
  • The date delivery is taken of an aircraft that comes factory-equipped with Dynon Avionics products already installed.
Warranties are transferable to subsequent owners of Dynon Avionics products, subject to the above conditions. See the bottom of this page for an example of a typical Dynon Avionics Limited Warranty.

In Warranty Repairs
For in-warranty repairs, please contact Technical Support at support@dynonavionics.com, or call 425-402-0433. For non-US customers, you may contact us directly or work through your dealer. The dealer you purchased from should be able to help facilitate the return of your unit to us for repairs. Freight to Dynon is the responsibility of the customer or dealer. Dynon pays for freight of the repaired unit back to the customer.

Damaged Products (from accident aircraft, electrical overload event, etc)
Dynon does not warrant products that have been damaged via accident, drops/impacts, water damage, abnormal aircraft electrical events, or any other damage or abuse that is not due to defects in materials/workmanship.

Products that need repair due to abuse, misuse, improper installation or unauthorized alteration are therefore not covered by warranty and are not eligible for flat rate repair per the Out Of Warranty Repairs section below. They may or may not be deemed repairable, depending on the extent and nature of the damage. Products that have been damaged in an aircraft accident are generally not considered repairable. Dynon Technical Support can provide further guidance on whether a broken or damaged unit qualifies for an out of warranty repair. Repairable products that have physical damage will be examined on a case-by-case basis. In the event they are repairable, the repair fees will be determined individually and will likely be higher than the table under the "Out Of Warranty Repairs" tab. When a damaged repair is deemed possible, the warranty period on the repaired product will not exceed 90 days.

In cases of severe damage or water submersion, avionics should be considered a total loss.

Out Of Warranty Repairs

Out Of Warranty Repairs
Products that require repair outside of their warranty period for reasons that would have normally been covered under warranty (such as component failure or workmanship) during the warranty period can usually be repaired for a flat rate.

For eligible out of warranty repairs, Dynon charges a flat rate as shown below. This table only applies to products that are sent in for repair and then returned. Other scenarios may incur additional charges on a case-by-case basis:
