Added: 1/3 HSI on left, 2/3 EMS on right screen combination. Added: EMS GP input can now accept an OAT for monitoring a user-named temperature. Added: EMS General Purpose Thermocouple input can now accept a type J or K thermocouple for monitoring a user-named temperature. Added: 1/3 EMS on left, 2/3 EFIS on right screen combination. Added: Support for HS34 HSI Expansion module. Improved: Various HSI page changes to support HS34 and user feedback about legibility of display elements. Improved: EMS can now use GPS altitude for % power calculation. Improved: Vertical guidance indicator now matches Garmin 396/496 indicator when receiving VNAV information. Improved: EMS data can now be logged internally at 1, 10, 30, or 60 second intervals. Improved: Back course flag on HSI page is now yellow. Improved: Manually set OAT (available when an EFIS does not have an OAT probe hooked up) is not considered valid until it is explicitly set by the user. Improved: Serial GPS input compatibility improved with multiple devices. See http://wiki.dynonavionics.com/GPS_Configuration_Settings for current compatibility notes. Improved: DSAB updated to handle all communications between Dynon Avionics products. PC serial ports no longer need to be connected between EFIS and EMS units as previously required. All data and device features, except for setup functions, can now be used from any connected screen. Improved: When the Rotax 912 engine pre-set configuration is selected via EMS menu > SETUP > GLOBAL > ENGINE TYPE, tach time is not displayed since it is not a meaningful measurement on Rotax engines. Tach time is still available when the Rotax configuration is not selected and engine parameters are configured individually. Fixed: EMS systems displaying heading information from a connected EFIS now correctly alert if heading is lost. Fixed: Coolant Temp Sensor Type 4 Fixed: All FlightDEK-D180 units with internal batteries should now turn on solely on the internal battery. Additionally, when the internal battery is installed and charged, removal of master power now correctly results in the unit switching to internal battery power. |

Added: Manual set of GPS selected course. If the GPS serial stream does not supply the selected course sentence, then the COURSE menu can be used to set the course on the HSI page. Added: Type 4 coolant temperature sensor. Added: Auto-set of kollsman window. The current indicated altitude is preserved across a power cycle. If possible, the baro setting is adjusted at power-up so that the new indicated altitude matches the saved value. Added: Leaning mode fuel flow difference. After the last cylinder peaks during a leaning operation the difference in fuel flow between the first and last cylinder peaks is displayed. If the fuel flow decreases it is shown as Lean of Peak. If fuel flow increases it is shown as Rich of Peak. Added: Fuel addition auto detection. If enabled, at power-up an EMS will detect if fuel has been added above a percentage of the total tank volume in any tank. If detected, the EMS will prompt the pilot to add fuel on the fuel page. Added: EMS end-user data logging. The EMS saves many parameters for later retrieval by the Dynon Support Program. Added: Percent power calculation. If enabled, percent power is displayed in the color arc of the manifold pressure guage. If a fuel flow sensor is installed, then lean or rich of peak operation is automatically detected. An altitude input from an EFIS is required. Added: Save settings on power-off. In addition to the current logic, units will now save their settings when powered off with the front panel button. Added: Units on airspeed threshold set menu. The current airspeed units are displayed in the threshold set menus. Added: Menu restore after alert acknowledge. If navigating in the menu system and an alarm bar is raised, the current state of the menu is restored after the last alarm is acknowledged or cleared. Added: Magnetic intensity to magnetic calibration. As part of the EDC calibration process the pilot must enter the magnetic intensity of the location where the calibration is taking place. Added: Setting tach and hobbs times tenths. Tach and Hobbs times may be set in tenths of an hour. Added: Engine parameter display on EFIS main page. Added an EFIS info item to display engine RPM and tach if available. Added: Mechanical style roll indication. Added another style of roll indication that better mimics a mechanical instrument. Added: Hooked pitch lines. Modified the pitch lines to have hooked ends that point toward the horizon. Added: Fuel flow dial display. Where possible the digital only fuel flow indicator was swapped with the analog fuel pressure indicator. Added: Fuel flow info item. Added: GPS ground track bug. The old triangle style heading bug on the EFIS heading tape was modified to indicate GPS ground track if available. Added: New digital airspeed and altitude indicators. Modified the airspeed and altitude tapes' depiction with scrolling digital numbers aligned with the current indication on the tape. The visible tape range was widened, and the position of tape and corresponding tape numbers was swapped. Added: Airspeed and turn rate trend indicators. Added a 6 second indicated airspeed trend bar. Modified the turn rate indicator to indicate a 6 second trend. Added: Altitude alerter. Toggling the altitude bug on will activate the altitute alerter function with the bug value as the target altitude. While climbing or descending toward the target altitude a level-off alert sounds when passing through 500' from the target altitude. The target altitude is considered captured when altitude is within 150' of the target. Flying more than 200' away from the target will trigger a short audio alert and alternate the bug in red and yellow as a visual alert. The visual climb or descend alert will clear after recapturing the target altitude or 30 seconds. Added: Graphical vertical speed indicator. Added an analog vertical speed indicator. The VSI can be selected for a 1000'/min, 2000'/min or 4000'/min maximum. The indicator bar is scaled to indicate a 6 second altitude trend when in 2000'/min mode, or in 4000'/min mode up to 1000'/min. Added: Course deviation and glide slope indicators to the EFIS display. Added a course deviation / cross track deviation and glide slope / vertical deviation indicator to the EFIS display. The color of the bar indicates the currently selected navigation source. The center mark of the CDI functions as the To/From indication with an upward or downward pointing triangle, or blank. If a conflict between the CDI and the roll scale is detected, then the CDI is removed from the display until the conflict is resolved. Added: Wind indication on EFIS. If available, added a depiction of the wind's relative angle and absolute speed on the EFIS. Added: New altitude and airsped bugs. Modified the altitude and airspeed bugs' look and feel to match the heading bug on the HSI. Added: New AOA display. A new AOA display style was added. This display shows horizantal bars which pull away as AOA increases and turn into downward pointing arrows as AOA approaches stall. A red triangle at the top of the display will flash while AOA audio is active. Added: User configuration of serial ports. An HSI Setup menu was added. This menu makes it possible to override the auto detect feature of the local serial port. Added: AOA audio threshold. To reduced nuisance AOA audio alerts, a threshold was added under which audio is inhibited. AOA audio is inhibited at power-up. Audio will continue to be inhibited until IAS reaches the threshold (20 kts by default). The AOA bar continues to operate as normal. Once above the threshold audio will be uninhibited and will operate as normal until IAS drops below the threshold. However, if IAS drops below the threshold while audio is active (in a stall), audio will remain active as long as IAS stays alive. This does not fix a bad AOA calibration. Added: Minimum red line on tach. Added a minimum red line setting for Rotax engines. Added: Minimum red line on oil temperature. For a Rotax engine the oil temperature's arc colors are dynamically set to the fixed values defined by the manufacturer's recommendations. Added: HSI course setting on EFIS. The current course setting of the selected source on the HSI is displayed as a V on the heading type. The color indicates the currently selected navigation source. Improved: Indeterminate attitude alert message. Modified the ATITUDE INDETERMINATE alert message to be HORIZON RECOVERING... Improved: Turn coordinator bar visibility. The turn coordinator was modified to be more visible in all lighting conditions. Improved: Flight time reset. The flight time is saved and preserved across a power cycle. It is reset when the oil pressure exceeds 15 PSI for the first time after power-up. Improved: Leaning mode temperature display. The temperature drop reading of a cylinder now supports 3 digits so that LOP or ROP temperatures above 99 degrees can be displayed. Improved: OAT set menu display. The OAT set menu now display the current temperature units. The menu no longer displays a + sign for positive temperature settings. Improved: Indicated airspeed active range. The airspeed indicator now comes alive above 20kts and remains active until going below 15kts. Improved: Fuel used reset. Instead of reseting the fuel used at power up, the fuel used is saved and preserved across a power cycle. It is reset when the oil pressure exceeds 15 PSI for the first time after power-up. This means the pilot may record the value at any time prior to the next flight. Improved: Digital heading display. Modified the EFIS heading tape to have a digital indicator similar to the HSI. Improved: Airspeed tape visibility. Modified the width of the airspeed tape to give more readability to the airspeed thresholds. Improved: Roll scale tick marks. Modified the roll indicator scale to have tick marks at 10, 20, 30, 45, 60, and 90 to better mimic a mechanical instrument. Improved: Heading bug display. Modified the heading bug on the EFIS heading type to match the bug on the HSI. Improved: Standard rate turn indicator re-scale. The turn rate indicator does not rescale when exceeding a standard rate turn. Improved: Look and feel of the HSI indicators. Improved: Fuel pressure redline increments. The fuel pressure color thresholds are now setable in tenths. Improved: Oil pressure digital display. Oil pressure display now supports three digits. Improved: VSI responsiveness. Responsiveness of VSI indication improved. Fixed: EFIS not detected alert. When an EMS loses communication with an EFIS the alert is now displayed properly. Fixed: Canceling flap calibration process. It is now possible to cancel flap calibration process before completion without affecting any currently saved calibration. Fixed: Type 2 ammeter display. Removed a communications glitch that caused the type 2 ammeter display to go to 99 periodically. Fixed: Magnetic calibration completion. Fixed a glitch which would allow the END button to be pressed at the wrong time during a magnetic calibration. This was causing the calibration to be clobbered. Fixed: Erroneous GPS course display. Fixed a problemw which would display a course of 360 and a distance to waypoint of 0 when no waypoint was active in the GPS. Fixed: EMS data output. Fixed a problem with the EMS serial data output for general purpose inputs. Fixed: Lowrance GPS integration. Fixed: EGT span and shock alarm display. Fixed a problem where EGT span and shock alarms would not trigger the light. Fixed: Distance to waypoint units. The distance to waypoint display was using the wrong setting when deteremining units. Fixed: EFIS display on right 1/3 at boot. Fixed an initialization problem that caused the wrong palette to be used for a 1/3 EFIS on the right page. Fixed: Serial output of heading. Fixed a problem with the serial output calculation for heading which could cause a momentary wrap around condition. Fixed: Digital display resolution of pressure in bar units. Any pressure value which displays units with resolutions of 0.1 PSI should also display resolutions of 0.01 bars, when global pressure units are set to bars. |
